REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY

Effective Date: August 27, 2026
Last Updated: August 27, 2026

Elevate Documents & Insurance Services (“Elevate,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to providing clear and fair policies regarding appointments, cancellations, payments, deposits, and refunds.

Because Elevate provides several different types of professional services, refund and cancellation eligibility may vary depending on the service requested, whether work has begun, whether an appointment time has been reserved, and whether third-party costs have been incurred.

This Refund & Cancellation Policy should be read together with our Terms & Conditions and any service-specific agreement, engagement document, booking policy, or written quote provided to you.

1. Free Consultations

Consultations specifically identified as free consultations do not require a professional service fee and therefore do not generate a payment eligible for refund.

We ask clients who cannot attend a scheduled consultation to cancel or reschedule as early as reasonably possible so that the appointment time can be made available to another client.

Repeated missed appointments or late cancellations may affect our ability to offer additional consultation appointments.

2. Paid Appointments and Services

Certain services may require advance payment, a deposit, or full payment before an appointment or before work begins.

Payment requirements will be communicated before the applicable service is confirmed whenever reasonably practicable.

Payment of a fee does not guarantee a particular outcome from a government agency, insurance carrier, taxing authority, court, notarial platform, foreign authority, or other third party.

3. Appointment Cancellations and Rescheduling

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide notice within the cancellation period displayed during booking or otherwise communicated to you.

Appointments canceled within the permitted cancellation period may be rescheduled or refunded when applicable, subject to the type of service and whether costs have already been incurred.

Late cancellations and missed appointments may result in the loss of an appointment-related fee or deposit where such a fee was disclosed before booking.

If Elevate must cancel an appointment, we will make reasonable efforts to offer a new appointment time. If a prepaid service cannot reasonably be rescheduled or provided, the applicable payment will be refunded.

4. Deposits

Some services may require a deposit before work begins or before an appointment is reserved.

When a deposit is required, Elevate will communicate the applicable amount and payment terms before collecting it.

Unless otherwise stated in writing, a deposit may become partially or fully non-refundable once:

  • Professional work has begun;

  • Documents have been reviewed or prepared;

  • Research or administrative processing specific to the client’s request has begun;

  • Appointment time or resources have been specifically committed;

  • Third-party expenses have been incurred; or

  • The service has otherwise progressed substantially.

Any service-specific deposit terms communicated to and accepted by the client will apply in addition to this Policy.

5. Document Preparation Services

Document preparation services involve professional time and work performed specifically for an individual client.

Before substantive work begins, cancellation may qualify for a full or partial refund depending on the circumstances.

Once preparation, document review, data entry, organization, drafting, or other substantive work has begun, fees attributable to work already performed may be non-refundable.

If a project is canceled after partial completion, Elevate may determine the refundable amount, if any, based on the work completed and non-recoverable costs incurred.

6. Immigration Document Preparation

Fees paid for non-attorney immigration document-preparation services compensate Elevate for the administrative and document-preparation work agreed upon with the client.

Elevate is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice or legal representation.

Refund eligibility depends primarily on the amount of work already completed rather than the eventual outcome of an immigration matter.

Once document preparation, form completion, document review, organization, or other agreed work has been performed, fees attributable to that completed work generally are not refundable.

A denial, rejection, request for evidence, delay, policy change, or other action by a government agency does not by itself create a right to a refund of professional fees for services already properly performed.

Any separate service or fee agreement accepted by the client may contain additional terms that apply to that engagement.

7. Certified Translation Services

Translation services are prepared specifically for the documents submitted by the client.

Before translation work begins, cancellation may qualify for a refund.

Once translation work has begun, fees corresponding to work already performed may be non-refundable.

Once a translation has been substantially completed or delivered, the service fee is generally non-refundable except where Elevate determines that an error attributable to Elevate requires correction.

If a correction is necessary because of an error attributable to Elevate, we will generally correct the affected translation without an additional professional translation charge.

Changes resulting from incorrect, incomplete, illegible, or subsequently changed source documents supplied by the client may require an additional fee.

Acceptance of a translation by USCIS, a court, educational institution, foreign authority, or another third party cannot be guaranteed and is not, by itself, a basis for a refund.

8. Notary and Remote Online Notarization Services

Notary and Remote Online Notarization services may involve reserved appointment time, travel, identity verification, technology, or third-party platform costs.

Refund eligibility therefore depends on the circumstances of the appointment.

For mobile notary appointments, disclosed travel or appointment-related charges may become non-refundable when travel has begun or the notary has arrived at the agreed location.

For Remote Online Notarization, third-party technology or identity-verification charges that have already been incurred may be non-refundable.

A notarization may be unable to proceed if identification, document, signer, technology, competency, willingness, witnessing, or other applicable requirements are not satisfied.

Where failure to complete a notarization results from circumstances attributable to the client or signer after costs or professional time have been incurred, some charges may remain payable.

Nothing in this Policy requires a notary to perform a notarization that the notary cannot lawfully or properly perform.

9. Tax Preparation Services

Tax preparation fees compensate Elevate for professional preparation work based on information and documents supplied by the client.

Before substantive preparation begins, cancellation may qualify for a full or partial refund.

Once tax preparation, document review, data entry, reconciliation, or other substantive work has begun, fees attributable to completed work may be non-refundable.

Once a return has been completed or filed, professional preparation fees generally are non-refundable except as otherwise required by law or agreed in writing.

The amount of a client’s refund from a taxing authority, processing delays, audits, adjustments, rejected filings, or other actions by a taxing authority do not by themselves create a right to a refund of Elevate’s professional fees.

10. Insurance Services

Insurance premiums are separate from Elevate’s professional service charges and are governed by applicable insurance laws, carrier rules, policy terms, and any applicable premium-refund requirements.

Elevate’s website is not intended to independently establish cancellation or premium-refund rights for an insurance policy.

Questions concerning cancellation of insurance coverage, return premiums, policy changes, or carrier charges will be handled according to the applicable policy, insurer requirements, and law.

Unless expressly authorized and implemented in compliance with applicable requirements, insurance premiums are not collected through Elevate’s website.

11. Government and Third-Party Fees

Government filing fees, application fees, insurance premiums, shipping charges, postage, apostille charges, recording fees, identity-verification fees, platform charges, and other third-party expenses are separate from Elevate’s professional service fees unless expressly stated otherwise.

Once a payment has been transmitted to or incurred with a government agency or third-party provider, Elevate generally cannot refund that amount.

Any refund of a third-party charge is subject to the policies and requirements of the organization that received or imposed the charge.

12. Client Delays or Failure to Provide Information

Clients are responsible for providing requested information, documents, approvals, signatures, and responses reasonably necessary to complete their service.

If work is delayed because required information is not provided, the existence of the delay does not automatically entitle the client to a refund.

If a client abandons a service after Elevate has performed work, fees attributable to work already completed or expenses already incurred may remain non-refundable.

13. Duplicate or Incorrect Payments

If you believe you were charged twice, charged an incorrect amount, or made a payment in error, please contact Elevate promptly.

Verified duplicate payments or payment-processing errors attributable to Elevate will be corrected or refunded as appropriate.

14. Refund Requests

To request a refund, contact Elevate and provide sufficient information for us to identify the applicable service and payment.

Refund requests should include, when applicable:

  • Client name;

  • Service purchased;

  • Appointment or payment date;

  • Amount paid; and

  • Brief explanation of the request.

We may request additional information reasonably necessary to review the transaction.

Refund requests are evaluated according to the circumstances of the service, work completed, applicable agreement, third-party expenses, and this Policy.

15. Approved Refunds

When a refund is approved, it will generally be returned through an available appropriate payment method.

The time required for funds to appear may depend on the payment processor, financial institution, card issuer, or other payment provider.

Elevate does not control processing times imposed by independent financial institutions or payment providers.

16. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

Clients are encouraged to contact Elevate first if they believe a billing error has occurred or if they have a concern regarding a service charge.

Nothing in this Policy limits any rights a consumer may have under applicable law regarding legitimate payment disputes.

Elevate may provide applicable service agreements, communications, appointment records, proof of work performed, transaction records, and other relevant documentation when responding to a payment dispute.

17. Exceptions and Applicable Law

Elevate may approve exceptions to this Policy when appropriate based on the circumstances.

Nothing in this Policy is intended to waive or restrict a refund, cancellation, or consumer right that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.

If a service-specific written agreement contains refund or cancellation provisions that differ from this general Policy, the service-specific terms will govern that service to the extent permitted by law.

18. Changes to This Policy

We may revise this Refund & Cancellation Policy periodically to reflect changes in our services, booking procedures, payment practices, or applicable requirements.

The current version will be posted on our website with an updated “Last Updated” date.
